I'm Totally Worth It

I earned a new nickname over the weekend. On Sunday, a friend of mine organized a "Guys' Day", which he does a few times a year, where we get together and just play some four-person games on his XBox 360, drink Henry Weinhard sodas, and grill some formerly alive animals.

Halo 3 was up this time and someone decided that starting everyone off with rocket launchers (slightly different than Team Rockets, since other weapons were available) was a good idea. It kept things moving, as opposed to having half the players taking up sniper positions while the other half took half the game finding them only half of the time.

This added a problem to my normal "Search and Destroy" methodolgy, since, upon finding my enemy, there wasn't enough time to backup to a safe distance before firing. The funny thing about rocket launchers is that firing at a target at near-point-blank range has as negative an impact on the firer as the firee. Many times, however, this would take out: a) the leader; b) someone on a killing spree; c) someone who was trying to pin me down; or d) someone doing some annoying sniping. After such a kill-suicide combo, I let the deceased know that it was "totally worth it". It happened enough times and became my trademark phrase.

I haven't let my wife know yet. Hopefully, she already does.
