Seattle's WHO Game - Worst Weekend Ever

Tremendously wonderful news! For the first time six years, since before I began playing puzzle hunts, there's going to be a Game in Seattle. The World Henchmen Organization Game sounds like tremendous fun but for one thing: It takes place June 17-19. Oh man, what a terrible weekend to pick! June 17th is my daughter's birthday. June 18th is a good friend's birthday. June 19th is Father's Day!

The only way the Silly Hat Brigade and Los Jefes could have picked a worse time would be the weekend before, when my wife and I are celebrating ten years together.

*le sigh*

I'm sure it's nothing personal. :P

It's always tough for a GC to pick a Game date; I know Snout has caused more than one player grief in the past because of some scheduling conflict. DeeAnn and I are going to talk about this very issue in an upcoming SnoutCast.

Hey, this would have been my first opportunity to play in a Game in Seattle, and would have been my second full-length Game... so give me a chance to whine and moan a little? :)

I do understand how challenging picking a date is. I am a tiny, tiny bit surprised that they picked Father's Day weekend, though. I can just imagine all the dads out there already begging their wives: "But dear, it's the first effing Seattle Game in six effing years! There's a Father's Day *every* year! Can't I miss just one?"

FWIW, I can vouche for the fact that we weren't trying to screw Scott. On a related note, interested in playing in our live beta? :)

It's my very first Father's Day, yet I'll be solving puzzles in a van. It's my day, right?

If it were MOTHER'S Day, THAT would have been a problem. :)

Yeah, it's a day for a father to celebrate, generally in a way he sees fit. My wife, however, has *ahem* reminded me that if I'm not around, it's awful hard for her and our daughter to celebrate it too.

Of course, my whining became pretty much moot when the Bay Area recast in November was announced!

Just for the record:

--Donna's birthday is on the 16th
--WHO runs the 17th-19th
--Our 10 year anniversary is on the 20th

The family that GCs together, stays together ;)
